FAQ’s for Vaportrail Strings, Cables and Arrow Rests
My string keeps stretching/peep keeps turning?
Factory strings are sometimes unbalanced. To save money, the bow manufacturer uses cheaper materials or takes shortcuts in the manufacturing process. If your string was not properly built it will stretch, which means your peep will rotate. String stretch also throws your cams out of time meaning they are not working together as efficiently as possible. Your bow weight is going to increase or decrease in poundage. If the string stretches your bow weight goes up, and if the cable stretches it goes down, if they both stretch the axel to axel grows longer.
On our Vapor Trail strings if you experience string stretch, most often the culprit is a broken strand. Broken strands are most often caused from sharp edges on a peep or improper peep install. Another culprit is bad base materials from the manufacturer, however it is extremely rare. Please contact Jarrod at 763 862 8870 for problems with your new Vapor Trail Strings stretching.
We define peep rotation as the peep rotating when you pull the string back. Peep rotation can be caused by any number variables including, inferior materials or improper construction. For the above reason, a low quality string will always have a peep tube. A peep tube is a band aid to cover problems a high end custom string eliminates. Vapor Trail strings have zero issues with peep rotation. The only time we have experienced peep rotation is when somebody has modified the string twist direction, or have reserved the center serving in the opposite direction. If you experience peep rotation on a Vaportrail String you should call Jarrod at 763 862 8870.
Peep alignment is defined as the angle your peep is at through the draw cycle. Vapor trail strings will always have consistent peep alignment through the entire draw cycle. If you have problems with your peep not squaring to your eye, click this link.

What bows does Pro V/Original Limbdriver fit or not fit?
Our Original Limb Driver Pro fits all bows. The Pro V has issues on the PSE Axe 6 as height adjustment is difficult because of the cable rod. Drop the cage all the way down to help ease in tuning. The standard Pro V will fit on all Mathews bows, but we have modified a version specifically for Mathews bows. The Mathews version allows the rest to be fit farther forward, and square up to the back of the Mathews riser for a tighter fit.
Fletching contact on pro v?
Try shooting the cock vane straight out (conventional like on a longbow or flipper rest) This will yield the best clearance on the Pro V rest. If this does not work, go back and paper tune. If paper tuning can’t correct the fletching contact, cam timing or hand torque can also be a culprit. If you are still stuck, contact Jarrod or Ears at 763 862 8870.
What info do I need to order a string and figure cost?
The lower limb of your bow will have a sticker with draw length, bow weight, string length and cable length. If the sticker is gone (common) or you can’t read it, we need to know if the bow is a single, binary, twin or cam and a half (sometimes called a hybrid). On a recurve or longbow, if you have an AMO 60, you need a 56 inch string (subtract 4 inches from the AMO for recurves, and 3.5 inches on a longbows.) Check out our string designer, and if you can fill in the spaces you are okay.
If you need more help you will need to call 763 862 8870 with your bow model, bow make, limb type or number (written on the limb) and cam numbers found on the top or bottom cam. If you know what year your bow was made that will help as well.

8190 xs2 452x vtx diffs?
JRod has been playing with the new 8190 and XS2 string materials. We have found zero speed gain, and longevity can only be proven over time. Heat and cold affect different materials and we are always concerned with new blends and how they well hold up over time. Our VTX is still proving itself as the best blend on the market, and when we find something better we will let you know.
String twist ratio/twists per inch?
If you twist your string up or down too much, it will lose its balance and you may introduce peep twist. Our standard is 8 to 12 twists per foot. Cable twist ratio is 6 to 12 per foot, because you don’t have a peep to worry about twisting.
